Stateline Customs 2.5″ Lift Kit

The Stateline Customs 2.5″ lift kit for the Commander is a simple shock mounting bracket replacement kit that pushes the top of the shock arms up and out for an extra two inches of suspension travel. The kits carry a lifetime warranty and will allow you to mount a 30″ tire on the Commander without further modifications. The following step by step instructions will illustrate the proper installation of this kit on a Commander.

1. First, put the entire vehicle up on jack stands with the tires off the ground, and remove the top of the shock and its hardware from the front factory shock mounting bracket. Then remove the stock shock bracket.

2. Next, bolt the new lift mount bracket where the old bracket was located and loosely secure the center and side bolts using washers and lock nuts.

3. Being careful not to cut the fluid line that runs above the shock mount, bolt the top of the shock to the new shock mount.

4. Finally, tighten up all of the bolts on the shock mounts and repeat the process on the other side. The brackets move the top of the shock arm in a more upright position, providing a few extra inches of ground clearance.

5. When you’ve installed the lift plates on the front of the vehicle, repeat the process on the rear. The A-arms below are high clearance arms that will add more clearance around the center of the arm, where they are most likely to break.
